Véronique Nichanian to Leave Hermès After 37 Years at the Helm of Menswear

Hermès has confirmed that Véronique Nichanian, Artistic Director of men’s ready-to-wear since 1988, will step down after presenting her final collection in January 2026 during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
Nichanian, regarded as one of the most consistent voices in French luxury, has shaped a masculine aesthetic defined by understatement, craftsmanship, and timeless refinement.
“It has been a 37-year journey — a constant dialogue between gesture and detail,” said the designer, who reportedly agreed her departure with the Dumas family more than a year ago.
Hermès has yet to name her successor, leaving the industry speculating whether the house will preserve its classic DNA or usher in a new creative era. Her departure marks the end of one of the longest and most stable creative tenures in contemporary luxury fashion.
