Dior presents new exhibition at La Galerie Dior
La Galerie Dior at 30 Montaigne is an exceptional place that celebrates art(s) and memory, retracing the history and legend of the House through the prism of its unique heritage and fabulous reinventions. To showcase the works that have been carefully conserved by Dior Heritage, La Galerie Dior has organized a retrospective tour featuring almost 150 new models, accompanied by over a hundred archive documents and photographs.
A selection of prints by Dutch photographer Viviane Sassen is also being unveiled in a room dedicated to L’Allure Dior alongside the emblematic creations. A longtime collaborator of Dior who shot iconic images and campaigns, the artist has created a stunning series of photos shot in the haute couture workshops at 30 Montaigne. Reworked using painting and collage techniques, these images give life to unique compositions that capture the essence of the Dior allure over the years.
The exhibition also retraces the birth in 1967 of Miss Dior, the Maison’s first ready-to-wear line. There is a brand new room as well, never before open to the public, devoted to Dior scarves, symbols of versatility and stylistic innovation since 1947.
Last but not least, the room entitled Les Ateliers du Rêve pays tribute to the virtuosity of Dior artisans, a fascinating look into the creative wings of the House. The new exhibition, which spans 13 rooms dedicated to different themes, is a magical exploration of Dior’s incredibly rich heritage, bridging past and present.
