Analysis of Carbon Footprint Reduction

Paper Production:

The production of paper has a significant environmental cost. It is estimated that producing one ton of paper emits approximately 1.5 tons of CO2.

Printing and Distribution:

The printing and distribution of magazines also generate emissions. According to various sources, the production and distribution of a magazine can emit between 0.3 and 0.7 kg of CO2 per copy.

Carbon Footprint of Digital Reading

Electronic Devices:

The use of electronic devices to read the magazine in 3D also has an environmental impact. However, this is relatively low compared to the production and distribution of printed magazines.

Energy Consumption:

The energy consumption for reading a digital magazine can vary, but on average, reading a digital document for one hour can consume around 0.005 kWh, which is equivalent to approximately 0.002 kg of CO2.

General Calculation

Printed Magazines:

100,000 copies x 0.5 kg CO2 (average of 0.3 to 0.7 kg CO2 per magazine) = 50,000 kg CO2

Digital Reading:

Considering that each reader reads the magazine for one hour.
100,000 readers x 0.002 kg CO2 per reader = 200 kg CO2

Carbon Footprint Reduction

The carbon footprint reduction is calculated by subtracting the carbon footprint of digital reading from the carbon footprint of printed magazines.

Carbon Footprint of printed magazines:

50,000 kg CO2

Carbon Footprint of digital reading:

200 kg CO2

Total Reduction:

50,000 kg CO2 – 200 kg CO2 = 49,800 kg CO2

Our commitment to sustainability is stronger than ever. With this innovative version of our magazine, we not only offer a superior reading experience but also contribute to the preservation of our planet.
