Louis Vuitton and Kari Voutilainen redefine the art of horology 

Louis Vuitton is delighted to announce an exceptional collaboration with master watchmaker Kari Voutilainen.  

Finish-born Kari Voutilainen is renowned for his remarkable hand-crafted timepieces, which have earned him an enviable reputation among the collector community, reflecting the exceptional level of craftsmanship that goes into each of his rare watches.  

By a fortunate coincidence, both Louis Vuitton and the Voutilainen Workshop began their journeys to horological recognition in 2002 — Louis Vuitton with the launch of its groundbreaking Tambour watch, and the Voutilainen Workshop with the establishment of the watchmaker’s independent atelier in Môtiers, Switzerland. 

The new LVKV-02 GMR 6 represents a unique blend of the expertise of artisans at the Voutilainen workshop with that of the artisans at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. Kari Voutilainen is a member of the committee of experts for the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives, and this exclusive collaboration at the same time supports independent watchmaking. 

The LVKV-02 GMR 6 features a case crafted from pure tantalum and platinum, adorned with hand polished and satin finish detailing. The gold dial is manufactured in four parts, decorated with hand guillochage engraving and miniature painting. The movement features cutting-edge horological expertise designed for exacting global explorers, fusing technical precision and masterful artistry. The timepiece embodies Louis Vuitton’s emblematic spirit of travel while celebrating independent watchmaking.
