Gucci to Launch Innovative Circular Luxury Hub in Italy

Gucci, the Italian luxury brand, has revealed the launch of an open-platform “Circular Hub” with the support of its parent company, Kering. The facility, which will be based in Tuscany, will aim to transform the entire value chain of the Italian fashion industry, starting from raw materials and continuing through logistics, with a focus on creating luxury products in a sustainable and circular way.

The Circular Hub’s initiatives include research and development, circular logistics methods, and collaborative industrial partnerships, all of which have the potential to contribute to minimising the environmental and social impacts of the Italian fashion industry. By driving economies of scale and purpose, Gucci hopes to lead the way in creating a positive impact in the industry.

The Circular Hub is set to involve several Kering facilities, including Gucci’s product sites and its Italian-based raw material suppliers, with the goal of extending to other Kering brands and the entire sector later on. The initiative’s approach aligns with Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan and the EU’s 2030 emissions reduction targets.

In a statement, Marie-Claire Daveu, Kering’s Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer, said, “The creation of our Circular Hub represents a milestone that goes in this direction. I am extremely pleased that the hub will see the light in Italy, home of some of the Group’s strongest and most renowned production hubs and know-how.”

Gucci’s Circular Hub aims to have a positive impact on the luxury fashion industry, contributing to shared research and the innovation of local industrial facilities. By driving the adoption of circular operations throughout the region, Gucci and Kering are leading the way towards a more sustainable future for the fashion industry.
