The Giorgio Armani Group, one of the pillars of Italian fashion and elegance, has officially appointed Giuseppe Marsocci as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking the beginning of a new chapter for the house after the passing of its legendary founder, Giorgio Armani, on September 4 at the age of 91.
The succession, meticulously planned by Armani himself, aims to ensure the continuity of his creative and managerial legacy while opening a phase of strategic renewal focused on global expansion and the preservation of the brand’s cultural and aesthetic DNA.
Marsocci, a long-time insider who spent over two decades within the company and served as Deputy General Manager, has long been regarded as one of Armani’s most trusted executives. His appointment follows the late founder’s will, which also stipulated the sale of 15% of the company’s shares within the next 18 months — offering priority to major luxury players such as LVMH, L’Oréal, and EssilorLuxottica.
At the governance level, Leo (Pantaleo) Dell’Orco, Armani’s lifelong collaborator, becomes Chairman of the Board, while Silvana Armani, the designer’s niece, takes on the role of Vice Chairwoman of both the Group and the Giorgio Armani Foundation, which retains majority ownership.
“My commitment is to preserve the integrity of an unparalleled legacy and to prepare the company for the next 50 years of success,” said Marsocci in his first official statement, emphasizing his intention to uphold the brand’s independence and its timeless minimalist identity.
With annual revenues estimated at €2.5 billion, the Group now faces the challenge of combining craftsmanship with digital transformation, embracing sustainability, and strengthening its presence in key markets such as the Middle East, India, and the United States.
Industry analysts agree that this moment represents a turning point for the Milanese powerhouse — the first time in its history it must reconcile heritage and innovation without the guiding hand of its visionary founder.
