Fundamental Principles of “Quiet Luxury”

Editor at LUXONOMY™ Group
Everyone is talking about “Quiet Luxury” and we have already written several articles about it. “Quiet Luxury” or “Silent Luxury” is a trend that moves away from the traditional ostentation associated with luxury, in favour of a more subtle and timeless approach.
These are its fundamental principles:
1. Subtle Elegance:
• Quiet Luxury promotes a subtle and discreet elegance instead of flashy ostentation.
• Through simple and timeless designs, it aims to convey luxury without being overwhelming.
2. Superior Quality:
• Emphasis is on the high quality of materials and the craftsmanship, privileging durability and functionality.
• Noble materials like silk are preferred, as they convey quality, luxury, and durability.
3. Simplicity:
• Designs are simplified, avoiding visual saturation and promoting a clean aesthetic.
• Neutral colours such as white, black, beige, brown, wine, or navy are used, avoiding overly busy textures but allowing for classic, combinable patterns.
4. Intrinsic Value:
• Quiet Luxury values the intrinsic value of products and experiences, beyond logos and prominent brand labels or ostentation.
• It focuses on providing authentic and lasting experiences, aligning with values such as sustainability and authenticity.
5. Timelessness:
• Products and designs within this trend tend to be timeless, which means they do not go out of fashion easily, thus promoting a lasting investment.
6. Sustainability and Authenticity:
• Authenticity and sustainability are encouraged, both in products and experiences, resonating with a more conscious and ethical modern consumer.
This trend reflects a shift in the perception of luxury, valuing quality and subtlety over the ostentation and exhibitionism traditionally associated with luxury.
