Dubai’s government has officially announced that the world’s first Metaverse shopping center will open in the city. The project, which is being developed by shopping center operator Emaar Malls, will use virtual and augmented reality technology to offer consumers a unique shopping experience in a virtual world.
Dubai’s Metaverse shopping center will feature a wide variety of stores and services, as well as entertainment and leisure spaces. Visitors will be able to explore the shopping center through their virtual avatars, interact with other users, and buy products and services in real-time.
The project is a joint initiative between Emaar Malls and blockchain technology provider NFT, with the goal of offering a revolutionary shopping experience that combines the virtual and real worlds.
Emaar Malls CEO Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne said in a statement, “We are delighted to announce the world’s first Metaverse shopping center in Dubai. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to innovation and creating unique shopping experiences for our customers.”
Dubai’s Metaverse shopping center is expected to open in the summer of 2023 and is expected to attract visitors from around the world. The initiative is a demonstration of Dubai’s commitment to innovation and technology, and is expected to mark the beginning of a new era of shopping experiences in the virtual world.
