Women@Dior and UNESCO celebrate five years of commitment

Dior and UNESCO celebrated the fifth edition of the Women@Dior & UNESCO Global Conference on July 3, 2025 at the organization’s headquarters in Paris.

This exceptional event marks a significant milestone in a visionary partnership born from a shared conviction: that education and sisterhood are the pillars of empowering young women around the world.

At the heart of the program are mentoring, sharing knowledge and know-how, and training, championed by inspiring figures from Dior, the LVMH group, and UNESCO, as well as from the worlds of art, business, and sports. The Mentees —young female talents supported by Women@Dior—shared their journeys alongside their Mentors, embodying the strength of the collective and the transformative power of solidarity.

The conference opened with inspiring remarks by Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO; Delphine Arnault, President and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, and member of the LVMH Board of Directors and the Executive Committee; and Olivier Sastre, Deputy Managing Director in charge of Human Resources and Sustainable Development of Christian Dior Couture. Together, they emphasized the urgent need to prepare new generations for the challenges of a changing world.

Maud Alvarez-Pereyre, LVMH Group Human Resources Director and member of the LVMH Executive Committee, and Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO, highlighted the importance of education as a lever for women’s empowerment and the responsibility of institutions and companies to build a more equitable, desirable, and sustainable future by preparing young people for the realities of tomorrow’s professional world.

Inspiring guests also included Zahia Ziouani, Musical and Artistic Director of the symphony orchestra Divertimento – who led the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games – and filmmaker Zuriel Oduwole, the youngest nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize, who defends the importance of female empowerment. Tamu McPherson, Fashion Creative, shared her thoughts on identity issues, while Domitille Kiger, world skydiving champion and co-founder of zerOGravity, talked about her journey and achievements as an entrepreneur.

A highlight of this edition was the presentation of Dream for Change projects, led by five international teams of Mentees, illustrating the program’s tangible impact on local communities. For the first time, two initiatives were selected by public vote, underscoring the inclusive nature of the event.

Through this committed initiative, Dior and UNESCO reaffirm their shared determination to build a more equitable future, a future where every young woman can become an agent of change.
