Designer Jonathan Anderson took the reins at Loewe three years ago. He decided taking the Spanish luxury house into the interiors realm, because “home has never been more important”. It’s also a more substantial way of demonstrating a brand’s creative flair, artisanship and know-how – furniture has longevity.
Loewe follows in the footsteps of other fashion brands expanding into lifestyle via homeware and debut at Milan design week.
Modular seating inspired by American minimalism, wool throws knitted into curious male silhouettes, star-spangled rugs, oak pieces hand-carved by Yorkshire furniture-makers; “Loewe: This is Home” draws upon myriad influences and a panoply of textures and techniques. Its eclectic nature is a very personal expression of the craft-obsessed mind behind it – that of creative director Jonathan Anderson.
